Landscape architecture for both people and the planet.
Plants for People is a Nova Scotia based landscape architecture and ecological design studio. We work to strengthen the relationship between people and the landscapes they live in. Founded by landscape designer Nicholas Robins, the studio focuses on practical, climate aware design using native and regionally adapted plants, low carbon and local materials, and site sensitive drainage and grading.
We design residential gardens, coastal properties, and small community and education projects across Atlantic Canada. Each project starts with what the site already has and builds from there, so the result fits the place, is easy to care for, and supports local biodiversity. Our gardens are meant to be positive expressions of respect for all living creatures, from pollinators and soil life to birds and people who use the space.
We often work in phases to match real budgets and we collaborate with contractors and craftspeople to make sure what is drawn can be built. Above all, Plants for People is about creating outdoor spaces that are useful, resilient, and generous to the wider ecosystem.
